I have never tried Rub n Buff before, but it sounds intriguing! If not the mirror, I’m going to have to break down and try it on something πŸ™‚

If you go with metallic, you could use Rub n Buff–that stuff is so easy to use and the little tube goes a long way. If you get it at Michaels or JoAnns, they have those 40% coupons so it would be super cheap to do.

Thanks so much, Barb! I think I am in agreement with you for now, I need to let it sit a while before I decide anything. Also, there is a possibility that the gold leaf is real, and that might be a shame to paint over.

I really like both those ideas! I hadn’t considered metallic spray paint, but I then I could get the ‘right’ gold. And ooh, double mirror! πŸ˜‰ Haha, i love it though! Thanks a bunch, I will definitely think about that.

The gold (despite the red specks which I can’t see) and black fits the style of the mirror, so don’t be in a rush. On the other hand, I have seen some of your painting of big frames, and your work is awesome!
