The garage is falling off it’s blocks….
The porch is caving in….
The entire electrical system is flawed….
The plumbing needs a major overhaul…
Folks, we went through one heck of a learning process here. Last week we were under contract for a house. A house that we knew to be a fixer… but what we didn’t count on, was the problems being doublefold after doing an inspection.
We may be stubborn, but we know when we’ve been had. And this house turned out to be WAY more than we were bargaining for. Luckily we were able to back out the contract, and we learned some valuable lessons for next time. 1) Count on there being more problems than you think, and 2) sometimes the cosmetic state of the house can be a good indicator of the structural soundness as well.
So, with a little experience under our belts, we will keep looking for the right home. And this time… only cosmetic fixers! Goodbye cute little Downers house…
